Hiya LJ56 ,
im Sorry you are going through this , but you sound like you are doing amazing, with the treatment and putting weight on that’s brilliant, it’s always so scary when you have a scan coming up , my mum is the one with the exact cancer you have , she is has been having treatment since June. And all her scans have shown shrinkage , the oncologist said it’s slowly shrinking, and he was very happy about that,
Good luck with your scan and please let us all know how you doing, xx wishing u the best
lots of love
Nicole x
Sorry to hear about your diagnosis but glad you've been ok up until now with side effects etc.
Since my mum was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer 10 days ago, I think I've read every website and forum going! Lol!
The bottom line is that its hard to feel reassured as every single case really is unique!! So I'm not surprised that you're nervous as its very difficult to 'guess' what the outcome may be. I'd like to think that because you're feeling OK and not suffering with side effects then its more promising but I wish you the best of luck with your next scan. The fear of the unknown is torture in itself but at least you'll have answers either way.
Stay strong x
Thankyou your message has really reassured me I’m so pleased that you’re mum is doing well take care and keep in touch let me know how you’re mum I’d doing
Thankyou I’m so sorry to hear that you’re mum has just been diagnosed it’s early days for you I hope you’re mum does as well I have I feel so much better about my upcoming scan results now I have found this group it’s so nice to talk to people in the same situation as me please keep in touch take care
Hiya, this journey wil have it’s ups and downs / but the treatment is so advance and the oncologist are amazing at what they can do aswel as the nursing team aswll , I wish your mum the best , and here if you need to chat or anything x
I know it's scary but putting weight on is a good sign.
I too got diagnosed in July, stage 4 nsclc, and my treatment (pembrolizumab) is every 6 weeks. I had my first scan results on Friday and my tumor has shrunk from 3.5cm to 1.7cm and there's no spread. I'm obviously pleased but I feel a bit numb about it all...I think I'm scared to get too excited.
Wishing you tons of luck xx
That’s great news so glad you have had good results off immunotherapy that makes me feel a lot better mine is 6.4cm good luck with the rest of your treatment x
Hi so glad things have gone well for you, I start immunotherapy on 7th for recurrence of my throat cancer. Good to hear your side effects were minimal. Keeping everything crossed for your scan results xxxx
I start mine on 7th December... so good to hear about your results but I know its difficult to get too excited, it's like waiting for the bubble to burst. Keeping everything crossed that you continue to batter the beast xxx
Thankyou so much good luck with the start of your treatment on the 7th hope you have a good response to it Lj56
