Hi
I've joined this forum because my mum has had a diagnoses of lung cancer. It has hit us all quite hard and are doing everything we can to support her.
But I am the only one actually looking after her. The rest of my family all live away.
Hi Jnae1948, welcome to the group but sorry you find yourself here. It is a lot of responsibility caring for a loved one with cancer on your own.
It is very scary when a family member receives a cancer diagnoses, and the fear of what is ahead, but talking to others who are in a similar situation to yourself does help you through this difficult time. Most of the people in this group are people who have lung cancer themselves, but there are a few here who are caring for loved ones. There are also other support forums on the community you can join.
You will find several people there who are going through a similar situation to yourself. You can also call the Macmillan support helpline for support 7 days a week from 8am til 8pm on 0808 808 00 00
Take care
Hi Chelle thankyou so much for your message and kind words. I just don't know where to go from here. My mum lives on her own now and all our family live away. And it's all down to me. Ime just real feeling the pressure. I pretty much go and see her every day. And help her in one way or another. It's her birthday aswell tommorrow but I know she won't want much fuss. But we will spoil her
we always do. She will be 73 I think.
Whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.
We’re here to provide physical, financial and emotional support.
