I have had a cough for 3 months with no other symptoms. Following a biopsy taken during a bronchoscopy last Wednesday, I was told today by my consultant that they found some cancer cells. Now Ihave to go for a PET scan and a week on Friday the oncologist will ring to give me the outcome, I.e. has it spread and the treatment they advise. I have kept myself so healthy over the years and don’t smoke and the doctor said it’s just bad luck. I feel Numb and it’s very hard to stay positive
Hi Shuell, welcome to the group, but sorry you find yourself here, the group that no one wants to join. The doctor saying it is just bad luck, doesn't make it any easier does it. The waiting for tests and results is the worst part. Once you know what you are facing, and what treatment you will have, you will start to feel more in control.
How you are feeling now is completely normal. When I was diagnosed I really felt like it was all happening to someone else, and I was just watching it all unroll in front of me. We all here know how you are feeling, because we have been through it. That is why this group is so important. We can be here to share our experiences, or just be a listening ear. Hang in there, it will get easier x
Whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.
We’re here to provide physical, financial and emotional support.
