Hi everyone - having struggled with breathlessness scans revealed a 6cm tumour in my lower left lung lobe. I also have a suspicious area in my left breast and behind my chest wall. Lots of scans and biopsy’s done and results awaited. I am trying to stay positive but it is hard some days. In some ways it will be better when I know the full picture and have spoken to the consultant. Currently a nurse rings me weekly to update me re the latest round of tests. I found this community and I guess I am hoping to connect with others in similar situations to receive and offer support.
Hi ADCL welcome to the group, but sorry you find yourself here. I think you are right, you do feel better once you know what is going on, and what you are dealing with. It sounds like all of your tests are done now, and you are just awaiting the results. What happens is once all the test results are back, they hold what is called an MDT meeting, where your oncologist meets with several other health professionals, and they discuss your results and work out the best treatment plan for you. You will hear from your oncologist either the same day, or the very next day. Hopefully you wont have much longer to wait xx
Thanks Chelle - yes, I expect to hear the verdict at the end of this week or early the week after. The NHS has been amazing so far and I feel in good hands but it is good to have this group to reach out to.
