After 12 years of kidney cancer and some excellent surgeons i thought I had bear the thing at the cost of most of my kidneys and, of course, addisons disease. However im now told that I have small lesions on the lungs indicating Stage 4. This has rocked me back on my heals of course.
Anyway im a Geordie living in Surrey, late 60s and making the most of things and have a supportive fanily.
so I thought i would say hello.
Hi Biffo, welcome to the group but sorry you find yourself here. I know how shocking it is when you are told that the cancer has come back. I also have lung mets after being cancer free myself for 5 years. It is terrifying, and you fear what is ahead. I have been stable for 7 years now, so please have faith that even though you are now stage 4, you can live a very good life on treatment. Lung cancer treatments have come such a long way in recent years. Being incurable doesn't mean you are not treatable, and where there is treatment, there is hope. x
Thanks so much for that much needed boost. I will use the classic “everydays a gift” as my mantra from now on.
