Hello,  same as my mum. She has it in her liver and top lining off her stomach. I am heartbroken too.  Xx

  • Hi Kerry, So sorry you are here, I hope you are ok, well as ok as you can be, Do you know what type and have they made a treatment plan yet.

My Mum was diagnose in June - She was totally shocked by this as she looks really well and healthy on the outside.  She had a stroke and this is what brought the Cancer to light.  She is starting to swell round the abdomen (liver has 3 tumours) and has back pain, it's in her spine.  The lung is the primary (2 tumours) and has spread to lymph at breast bone, liver, a lymph gland in her right shoulder and now her spine.  It has taken over her body so fast and she is so small.

    She has SCLC.

Your poor mum that sounds horrific. Have they offered her any treatment ? My mum had a few strokes about 4 years ago and has been struggling to get better then she went for some tests as her her bowels were playing up. They did a scan and that’s how we found out about the cancer. It was just a couple of weeks ago. She too looks well as can be but this has come as a total shock. They have said she’s too weak for chemo because of the strokes she can’t walk well.

We don’t know what’s going to happen next as just been told it’s in the lymph nodes on her chest.

she has a meeting with oncology next week. And then we will know a bit more.

Its just so sad and everyday I wake up it feels like the sadness hits me over and over again.

I don’t want to see my friends as feel I can’t feel happy like them and have to keep hiding from my 9 year old daughter as don’t want her to see me upset all the time.

Wish we had a magic wand to make all the sadness to go away xx

Same as my mum x sometimes the treatments are just tooharsh for them and it’s hard to accept it. I’ve been looking at all kinds of stuff to help like cbd oil and juices ect. My mums not impressed I think she wants to pretend it’s not happening as it’s easier than dealing with it xx

  • Hi Pingo & Precious5, We have been fortunate that she got Chemo - she told them she wanted to live longer as she was given 6 weeks to live without chemo - 6 months if she took the chemo - she chose chemo as she want to get her life in order.  She has just completed her 2nd round and goes for a scan today at 12.30 to see if it has blocked it from spreading so quick.  We will know more on 31st when she meets with the oncologist again.  She has now lost her hair but is looking really well considering.  She also got one round of Radiotherapy on her spine mets but won't give her more.

I can see that it has spread due to the swelling in her abdomen, its gotten so big the last few weeks.

If the Chemo doesn't work this time they wont continue and we are back at the 6 week mark.

Its heart-breaking - I am not ready to lose my Mum but just keep strong for her. I have never felt such a heavy weight like this before.

All my love to you both xx
