I had a lower right lobectomy in April 24
im still vaping should I be doing this
Hi Suea the NHS would say that vaping is preferred to smoking, but vaping is really an aid to help stop smoking rather than something to replace smoking. There still isn’t enough research into vaping and the effects it may have on people’s lungs. I personally don’t like family or friends vaping, as I cannot see how putting a wet liquid into your lungs can do any good.
I know how hard it is to quit smoking, and can see why people will think that vaping is a good replacement. Have you spoken to your GP about this? He will tell you if it is ok to continue, and if not will be able to help with quitting.
Myself and a friend both vaped and we both have lung cancer.
I think it will be a few years yet before we know the effects of vaping on our lungs, there just isn’t enough known about it yet. It baffles me when I see youngsters coming out of school vaping! But then back in my day I guess it was cool to smoke, and the youngsters see this the same way. My sister vapes, she has had breast cancer, I wish she would stop, but I know it is her choice.
I agree. I was horrified with the response when I asked the vape company what was in the e liquid. They point blank refused to let me know what the ingredients are! I will be taking it further with them.
Hi suea
I had a right upper lobectomy in September last year . I was told to stop smoking before the surgery but when your smoking 30 a day for the past 40 years I found this so difficult. The surgeon said to try using the vape as it doesn’t have the toxins in which cigarettes have
. I still use vapes today no cigarettes . And I’m ok no nasty chest congestion or infections take care x
