  1. Hi

I have Stage 4 lung cancer and am no longer on treatment as I had a reaction to the immunotherapy.  I'm being monitored every 3 months. I've been doing fine, however I have recently had a pain in my upper shoulder spreading up.my neck and into my head. The pain is painful and the painkillers don't seem to help. Today I have developed a pain in my lower back and into the groin area, which makes it painful to get up and walk. I'm off to get radiotherapy on Thursday and an MRI on my head, on Monday .

I am a little scared , they have upped my meds, now all I want to do is sleep.  But when I do  I keep jumping in my sleep and wake myself up.

Kind regards

  • Hi willow. Just remember you are the brave one. You seem to understand your ailments which I don't truly with mine! It is comforting in a way when others are further along with their treatment and although we are all scared ar at least wary of the outcome- it helps me to see what other poor souls are going through! Mine is a benign brain tumour but just this week I'm suffering a few odd headaches and unusual aching in my groin area at the front.  I'm going to update my consultant at both hospitals but I'm wary of the suggestion of having an operation to remove the Bt!..  with kind regards.  J

  • Hi Jandeb,

Thank you  I hope all goes well and the headaches and the aching in your groin does not lead to anything else.

I'm having my first radiotherapy today, I'm a bit nervous but hope that it will help with the pain in my hip and groin.

You take care of yourself .

  • Hi willow hope everything goes ok,I’ve had the groin pain for 3 days and then today I had to go to A+E as I thought it was a clot on my left Lung but it was an infection and I’m in agony,I’m waitingFingers crossedor my treatment plan and grade 3 Lung cancer good luckFingers crossed

  • Hi Robert1,

Sorry to hear about your groin pain, I can totally relate to it. I hope thay come up with a treatment plan for you soon. I've had more CTs and they can see the metastasis that are causing the problem. I had radiotherapy on my lower back and groin area last week. Today I'm having an MRI on my head, and then start radiotherapy on my lower neck and skull on Wednesday.  I just hoping this helps the headache and I can get a good night's sleep.

Please take care and let me know how you are doing.
