I had my thirid scan last week on a lung nodule ,which was first spotted in may 2021 ,as it was small 9mm they suggest watch and wait ,i had a PET scan and was told as it did not light up it was not cancer ,i had another CT scan in september and it had not grown ,but last week i had another CT scan and was told yesterday that it had grown slightly and they now are advising surgery to remove it ,I will find out more tomorrow .So far i have told none of my grown up children ,my oldest son is in Ukraine ,my daughter has M.E and my youngest son ,would just panic ,does anyone know if surgery would be keyhole ,or how long i will be in hospital for .very worried 65 year old
Hi Christie, I am sorry I missed your post, and have only just come across it here. I am sorry to hear that the recent scan has shown some growth on the nodule. Personally, I think it is good if they can operate and remove the nodule/tumour. Unfortunately, that was not an option for me, as I have too many tumours in both lungs.
You have a lot going on at home as well, it must be so stressful having a son in Ukraine. I hope he is safe. You would have seen your consultant by now, so hopefully you will know more about what is being planned for you. xx
hi Chelle ,i have been told i will see the surgeon on the 7th of june to discuss what happens next ,hopefully they can get me in quickly and get it removed ,i wrote two posts because i thought this one had not gone up ,the site can be a little confusing thanks Christie
Posts do get missed when the group is busy. Good luck for the 7th June. I know it’s hard to put it out of your mind, but do try not to worry too much whist you wait xx
Hi Christie, I wasn’t in a position where I could have an operation but I will agree with chellesimo that it is good they can operate.
I can understand the reason why you do not want to worry your children at the moment so do you have you someone else you can talk too about it? I hope your appointment went well xx
