My dad has been diagnosed with stage 3 none small cell lung cancer squamous cell carcinoma t3nomo..he also has copd.

His had his first round of immunisation therapy..

But we just what some honest truth..his legs and arms have been swelling up...his has enlarged lump nosed on his chest...we can see it and it feels hard..

His having difficulty breathing..he walks for 1 min and he is so out.of breath.

He s always sleeping...his eating but if it was his choice he would not...he said he feels bloated and feels like something is stuck in his throat.

He has started to cough up blood again...

We are just worried and want to know what to expect...

The doctors are telling us it's because of the treatment l..but his struggling not nice to see.

They say his cough should get better after 2nd treatment... But what do we do just watch him suffer.

Anyone experienced tjis..and I would like some honest advised and what to expect please....

  • Hi Sammyd I haven't had immunotherapy myself so I can't give advice on that, but hopefully someone else here who has had that treatment will be along to share their experience with you.

Have you mentioned the lump to his medical team? This is not the first time I have heard people say they were told that the symptoms will improve after the 2nd treatment. I know it is hard but try and keep the faith that your dads medical team are doing the very best for him. I know it is hard to watch someone you love suffer with this terrible disease, I have personal experience with that, and my heart goes out to you.

I hope your dads symptoms ease soon and he is more comfortable. Take care x

  • I've been on immunotherapy for 7 months along with the trial drugs. It has reduced my tumors by 75%....keep your dad going... It does work... X
