Hi Linz80, a week after I had my fourth Combination Chemo I got leg and hip pain and it was so severe I could not get out of bed and I was taken into my local hospital and not the hospital where I have my usual treatment.   I was informed that I had Cellulitis and Sepsis and it was 10 days with 3 different intravenous antibiotic drips and Morphine and Steroids before I could put my feet to the floor.  I did survive both these conditions and was then informed that the cancer had spread to the bones and they gave me a bone injection which I am supposed to have every 3 weeks but because of the Coronavirus all my treatment has been suspended including my chemo.   However, when I went for my Clinic appointment a few weeks after I got out of hospital and in the hospital where I had my usual cancer treatment they said that there was a blur on this diagnosis and said that they would have to look further into this as the x-rays showed the opposite of what I was told in the local hospital, so I am now totally confused and hoping to get a telephone consultation to clear this matter up on the 15th April - the date I was due another appointment to the clinic.  I will let you know how that goes.  As far as your Dad having fear of his Chemo being cancelled, it won't be for the reason of the bones because I was still offered my next chemo but with the lockdown it was cancelled, hope this helps.

Thankyou for the reply, hopefully you will get some answers soon . My mum is convinced it’s the cells growing back that’s causing the pain as there is no redness or hot to touch , but the pain is all the way through both of his legs , the morphine does help and he is able to walk around . They are just scared incase he gets admitted with the virus around

I can understand their concern of course, and to be honest I would not want to be going into hospital at this time either because the media hype is scaring people too much, especially us over 60s.  I hope he gets it all sorted soon, take care.

    Hi Linz

It is understandable how you and he are feeling, however it is also important that you let his team now.

For now, to maybe help sooth the pain have you tried applying heat whilst be careful to protect his skin? I have covered hot water bottle or the microwavable wheat bags which are good too.
