Hello All

I thought about setting up a thread for us all to use to chat about various stuff across, so it's all in one place and newer members posts not getting pushed down and off the discussion front page before getting an answer.

I hope you are all doing well and not too stuffed on easter eggs?

I have not eaten mine yet! I went to bed friday night not feeling well and woke up Saturday with a horrid migraine throwing my guts up Disappointed usually I fall asleep and sleep it off. Not so, I ended up going to the OOH doctor Sunday afternoon as was still throwing up Disappointed He gave me some lotions and potions and still not right yet. Though haven't thrown up for a few hours now. I going to try and eat something soon (not easter eggys) to see if I can manage that and see if it makes me feel better. I hate being ill! Especially on a bank holiday weekend with such nice weather. I was so looking forward to it and I have slept most of it away.

  • Hello Chelle,

Sorry to read your news about your dad. It’s so hard coping with a loved one going through this horrible disease.

I hope he responds well to his treatment.

    All the best to you.

    Fi x

Sorry to hear about your Dad.

    stay safe xxq

  • Thank you everyone, it was just such a complete shock, he thought he was only going to the haematology because his platelets were high, wasn’t expecting the diagnoses. He’s much brighter in himself today.

  • Hi chelle

I'm sure this news has hit you like a slap in the face but you should know that ET can be controlled and that people with it can live a normal life span.

Blood cancers are quite different to solid tumours, so prepare for a steep learning curve.

  • Thank you Lolie, I appreciate that x

  • Just got back from a follow up appointment with my haematologist.  She reassured me that the swollen lymph nodes in my neck are no cause for concern and that it's not even worth scanning at the moment.  My bloods are mostly back to normal.

The CT report from the scan I had done a couple of days ago for my radiation oncologist was in the system and - quite unexpectedly - it shows that the mass in my lung has already shrunk by 25%.  I had been told that it would probably appear bigger on this scan due to the inflammation caused by SBRT, so I'm stoked.

I feel like for the first time in 12 months I can relax a little bit for a couple of months.

  • It’s Friday 13th of 2020.....this day can’t be any worse than any other day this year surly. Many think that Friday 13th is bad luck because Judas, who betrayed Jesus, was the 13th guest to sit down to the last supper. Well we aren’t going to have 13 guests sat round any of our dinner tables anytime soon are we.

    Joy

It’s been a busy week in our lung group, it’s been a while since it was this active. Lots of good news stories from people who have had scan results. We need to hear these good news stories at the moment, they certainly lift our spirits, and I’m always happy to raise a glass of baileys to you all.

Sadly we have had lots of newbies join us too. I have tried to welcome everyone, if I have missed anyone I apologise. We all know what these early days are like, the knot in the stomach, the fear of the unknown. I know it is hard for them to imagine that it will get easier, but it does.

So enjoy Friday 13th, I will be walking under ladders, and In front of black cats.....oh no I can’t, I’m in lockdown.

  • Hi Chelle

good morning all. Friday 13th. I’ve always chosen to believe it’s a good day. Maybe because it allowed Jesus to fulfil his purpose here on Earth (for those who believe) of which I’m one.

im pleased to say I’m feeling better this morning having been admitted due to hugely high toxicity levels in my liver function most certainly due to trial drug.

just waiting for results of today’s bloods and hoping for some improvement - on high dose steroid short term.

sadly although would certainly join you in a large glass of baileys, alcohol is a Nono for now!

    only temporarily Fingers crossed

best wishes to all for a happy Friday xxx
