Hello All

I thought about setting up a thread for us all to use to chat about various stuff across, so it's all in one place and newer members posts not getting pushed down and off the discussion front page before getting an answer.

I hope you are all doing well and not too stuffed on easter eggs?

I have not eaten mine yet! I went to bed friday night not feeling well and woke up Saturday with a horrid migraine throwing my guts up Disappointed usually I fall asleep and sleep it off. Not so, I ended up going to the OOH doctor Sunday afternoon as was still throwing up Disappointed He gave me some lotions and potions and still not right yet. Though haven't thrown up for a few hours now. I going to try and eat something soon (not easter eggys) to see if I can manage that and see if it makes me feel better. I hate being ill! Especially on a bank holiday weekend with such nice weather. I was so looking forward to it and I have slept most of it away.

Ahh Julie - I hope at least you are sipping the wine from your sofa instead. Oh it does sound very posh. Hopefully the heatwave will come back for you. Oh dear, best you start stock piling the jobs for him and if he moans there are too many, you cant tell him not to leave it so long next time.

He is pretty good, and I do feel better. So hoping to keep it looser and feeling better.

Mick - That is an awful long wait, especially when they then expect you to wait longer. To try and look at the bright side, hopefully the fact they were planning not to see you again should hopefully mean that the scan results will be good and stable. I always say slow news is good news. Well done for putting a rocket up the secretaries bottom and getting the appointment bought forward. Good luck for tomorrow.

Chelle - ahh sorry it was sooner. He makes me after the massage....  never mind. As soon as he is not looking I pedal slower. I definitely feel better after getting regular proper meals, got some energy back.

Ina Vest - I hope the driving lesson was good and he will soon be offering to be your chauffeur.

    All

Apologies for not posting earlier but results from 3 monthly scan showed that, compared with the scan in May, it can be said that the disease is stable, so continuing with Osimertinib (until Axa stop paying for the medication).

fantastic news john boy. stable is what my oracoligist loves to hear. hope it stays that way/ TC

  • John Boy that is good news.Long may it remain stable.

Gina, the driving lessons went well and today he passed his Theory test.  His mum has taken him out driving today but not sure he can take much more of having a stressy bessy sitting next to him :)  Not sure about him being my chauffeur as I am a bigger stressy bessy than his mum.  I cannot overcome my anxiety of being a passenger.  Did you mention an exercise bike?  Is that one of those things for hanging clothes on? :) Good to hear your pain control is better and you have gained weight.

Darlo Hope you are getting more sleep than you had been recently.

Chelle, not quite Southampton but about 20 miles from there.

Hi Gina, I am afraid no news is good news is now defunct and stable Mabel has done a runner. The tumours in my lung are growing and the cancer has spread to the lymph nodes in the neck and chest.  They are coming up with a treatment plan of chemo and immunotherapy and may be some Target therapy.  This will take 3 weeks by which time my planned holiday will be upon us and my oncologist has agreed that I can go and treatment will start when I return. I am not surprised at all considering it is 14 months since my op and not had any treatment. It is 25 years since my last chemo sessions and I am told they have improved immensely,  watch this space on that one.

I hope you are ok and getting through what must be a hard week. If you have any spare sunshine we could do with a boost. I hear we may have a mini heatwave this weekend,  lovely.

    Oh Mick

Not only have you let yourself down, me down but the entire group down. I am sorry to hear stable Mable has run off with another fella.

Unfortunately with my saying I do have in a disclaimer of 'slow news is Usuallly good news' because sometimes sadly sometimes there is human error or too much demand. I am glad you chased when it wasn't in a reasonable amount of time and why i encourage people to do so.

Am I right in thinking this is the carvan holiday you have had booked for sometime. I do hope you have a great time and forget about treatment whilst away. Is it in the UK? Saves you the hassle of travel insurance if so.

I have not had immunotherapy so not sure on that. Chemotherapy after some tweeks was manageable. I hope you sail through it and maybe you can entice Mable to be re wooed by you !

Hi Gina, I think stable Mabel is playing hard to get as some of the opposite sex tend to do. John Boy was successful so  she is about.

Our holiday is in Cyprus for 2 weeks, plenty of sunshine, swimming, jet skiing and eating and drinking.  We know the place well and have always enjoyed ourselves. As for insurance cannot afford what they want but my son will get me home if necessary.last quote was £1800.

Thanks for keeping in touch with your amusing posts, always appreciated.

    Mick.

Well now we know where she is! I used to think they were playing hard to get, then I thought maybe I should just take the hint Smiley

The holiday sounds perfect! I have not got envy at all. Nope non! Wow for that price it was probably more than your holiday. Just in case you do want to try and find better quotes there is a travel insurance group, where you may get more competitive quote tips for either this or future holidays.

I wonder who I read was going camping in August, I am sure there was someone. Maybe Darlo or John Boy?

Well I had another good morning. made it to physio, got a massage and gritted my teeth through the exercises. I met the Chef today and ordered my food. He really is nice too. When I got my lovely butternut squash and chilli soup he brought me bread too and I am sure he gave me a much fuller bowl today. I had shepherds pie too and it was lovely. I was full before I started it, but crammed it all in and then wanted to lie down sprawled out going I am far to full. Though I did pop into the shops on the way home and sore a big display of Jam doughnuts ….. so not full enough to not leave without a packet of them for 'supper'. Ops

Good to hear I cheer you up Mick Slight smile
