Hello All

I thought about setting up a thread for us all to use to chat about various stuff across, so it's all in one place and newer members posts not getting pushed down and off the discussion front page before getting an answer.

I hope you are all doing well and not too stuffed on easter eggs?

I have not eaten mine yet! I went to bed friday night not feeling well and woke up Saturday with a horrid migraine throwing my guts up Disappointed usually I fall asleep and sleep it off. Not so, I ended up going to the OOH doctor Sunday afternoon as was still throwing up Disappointed He gave me some lotions and potions and still not right yet. Though haven't thrown up for a few hours now. I going to try and eat something soon (not easter eggys) to see if I can manage that and see if it makes me feel better. I hate being ill! Especially on a bank holiday weekend with such nice weather. I was so looking forward to it and I have slept most of it away.

  • Morning Gina,

Good to hear you are feeling better after your stay, I would say it’s been well worth it. Maybe they just slipped the excercise bike in to counteract the food you’ve been eating - couldn’t face the thought of rolling you outJoy The massage sounds good and the physio is helping with your pain, does that mean there is no pain relief for that or is it just an as well as. Enjoy your lunch, hope you’ve ordered the full works.

As you say it will be nice to get back home but the best thing is you feel better in yourself, well rested, fed and hopefully your pain is less. As I said enjoy your lunch but don’t forget just because you’ve had a good lunch you still have to have tea!!

Enjoy the rest of your day

    Julie
  • So glad the stay was a success and you are feeling better. But you are right, there is no place like home. Get those Dorothy shoes tapping.

  • Darlo, enyoy those grandkids.  My eldest grandson was 17 today and we spent the evening with him to celebrate his birthday.  My parents were there too,  He lost his father to cancer when he was 5.  This damn thing has no respect for those we love but we had a such a lovely evening with four generations celebrating the life of this lovely young man.  His first driving lessons are booked for tomorrow.......I thought cancer was stressful !!   Hope everyone has a lovely weekend........but remember to stay off the roads round Romsey and Shirley tomorrow!   Gina. hope you had a tasty tea tonight.  Marimba, you're right, what would we do without this site.

    Hi All

Julie - I think I would need to up the exercise bike a lot! They got me to put about half a stone back on whilst I was there Open mouth. I do miss the meal deliveries! How is all the garden furniture going, have you had a chance to use it? Any visits from your brothers?

Darlo - Have fun with the grandkids. I hope the new medication is still doing it's magic and giving you all sorts of energy.

Thanks Chelle the magic shoes got me home. Sleep so much better in my own bed. Hospital beds are always so uncomfy. I hope all is going well with you all. Am I right in thinking your sister has her surgery this week?

Marimba, I do agree, this site is great for us, makes you feel like there people around to support even if you don't know someone else in 'real life' with your diagnosis.

Thank you Ina Vest, I am not up to the chef's standard, but it's edible Slight smile

I have noticed that Albondigas and Humphreybrm have both gone awol again lately. Hope they are doing well.

Well for me this week I have the joys of a scan (AGAIN)… you know me, they love to scan. So Monday is bloods, Tuesday hoping to see the Physio and I should get fed whilst there, yay! Wednesday CT Head to pelvis, Thursday physio and food again and Friday oncologist for results and decide if I do want the chemotherapy or not, joy.

  • Morning Gina,

Oh good God nearly fell off the chair laughing - no I haven’t used the garden furniture, there’s me, I was going to be lady muck from dirt hall sitting in the garden sipping wine but it’s still not stopped raining and on the days it doesn’t rain it’s blowing a gale, my new parasol (yep I got one of those as well) would blow away. I’m pinning all my hopes on the next couple of weeks, rumour has it there’s another heatwave starting at the weekend. Paul my brother from London was up here last weekend which was nice, my other brother came home from a 3 week holiday in France last weekend, he phoned me last Sunday to let me know he was home and that was the last I heard from him - brothers eh!

Its really good that you are going for physio for two days next week, you did say he was goodThinking you don’t need to use the bike too much, you just need to make sure the weight you’ve put on is evenly distributed, you don’t want to end up like Kim Kardashian.

I must admit you do sound wellSee no evil your little stay did you good I think and I’m hoping your pain is a little better, I’d like it gone but a little better would be goodGrin

Hi Gina, still here and reading the posts daily with interest. Pleased you have put some weight on, got to be a positive. Trouble is as we all know positive one day and then get kicked by something.  Best of luck with all you have going on this week. Mine is a visit to see the oncologist tomorrow  for results of last scan taken almost 3 weeks ago. A long wait and worry and anxiety do not get any easier. My original appointment was for 2 weeks time, yes almost 5 weeks after the scan, not good. But last week I had a letter saying due to unforeseen circumstances my appointment was cancelled and I was on a waiting list and would be given a new appointment when available. I was not  a happy bunny and after an irate phone call they found me an appointment within minutes. I do not think these administrators realise what it is like to be waiting for results of tests relating to cancer.

Apart from all that I am feeling quite well and have two weeks in Cyprus next month to look forward to and no matter what the result is of my meeting tomorrow I am going.

    As usual waffled on.

Hi to all and hope everyone have a positive week.

    Mick.

  • it looks like you are in Southampton like me?

Gina, what a busy week you have, will you have any time for an exercise bike? You do sound better in yourself, and sounds like the stay has done you good. My sisters op is scheduled for the 2nd of September. She lives about 200 miles away from me so I am going up the weekend after her op.

Julie your garden furniture sounds lovely, I need to come and see it so put the kettle on for that weekend Grin

hope you have had a nice weekend with the grandchildren Derek.

Humphreybrm good luck with the oncologist tomorrow.
