Hello,

My wife is getting Chemotherapy and Immunotherapy ever 3 weeks and had just had her 3rd treatment..

She is experiencing Pins and needles in feet and hands causing quite sever pain which fades in about a week and disappears in the second week.

Does anyone know if there is anything to help with this issue.

  • Hello ,

I've had two different types of chemo, one being for lung cancer post surgery several years ago. On each occasion I suffered feelings like these in my hands and feet during and after treatment. In my case it was caused by peripheral neuropathy which is a common side effect and I was prescribed medication by my chemo unit to minimise its effects.

However, to be absolutely sure you should report it to your wife's treatment team as soon as possible - she should have been given contact details for the chemo unit to report any issues arising during treatment - so action can be taken to deal with these.

I hope she can get it sorted quickly.

    My best wishes, Derek.
