Hi
my husband has just been diagnosed with lower lobe tumour. He had all the tests and the Radiotherepy all booked . But we have now been told it’s grown since last scan and the Radiotherapy drs need a new PET scan to be accurate . But he’s worried whether my husband will get it quickly as the Xmas period is difficult . He only had the last pet scan 3 months ago and the tumour is larger. If we can’t get a pet scan for weeks then they will have to delay the Radiotherepy . So how much larger will it get if left . I’m concerned not sure what to do . Thank you got any advice
Hi Millicentt
I am sorry to hear about your husband. Christmas should not make any difference to the scan being done. People have appointments all over the Christmas period, there are people here who are having chemo on Christmas Eve.
I know how anxious you will be to get this done as soon as possible. If you do not hear anything in the next few days, then I would call your husband’s lung nurse, she will get onto it for you.
Thank you for your kind reply. We actually don’t have “ a lung nurse “ to call. Not sure whether it’s just our hospital but I have breast cancer and I’m not allocated a nurse either. But hopefully as you say everything’s continues and we will get the scan done soon .
Whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.
