Im really struggling. I had a lobectomy 11th September.  Why am I still in pain. I just feel so sore. I take gabapentin paracetamol and napraxon.

  • Hi it is very early days in your recovery. The important thing is to get your pain under control before being able.to move forward in your recovery, Iam 19 months post Op, My pain was poorly.managed after surgery I was on morphine before surgery anyway so I took.the.oramorph when needed but also.kept.on top.of.regular.paracetamol before the pain took over.

  • Thankyou for replying.  Im so frustrated being in pain. Just waiting to feel better.

  • I was in mega pain after my lobectomy I came home on day 4 with a drain for 10 days I went back to the hospital to have the drain removed. I can honestly say that’s when my recovery started . Slowly getting better each day walking more . I had to stop the pain meds which were making me very very constipated. Stick with it you will get through this

  • I know, it really is frustrating, Dint be so hard on your self, I was beating myself about the little.progress I was making, reading stories of others back to there pre Op fitness level when within a month and I was still struggling to walk to the bathroom 6 weeks post Op, it was getting me down, my Oncologist said you might be on the same journey but no two surgeries are the same, My surgery was 6 and a half hours, I started just standing outside my back door for 10 minutes a day then walking to the table and have a tea in the garden, Little.steps are progress, but get that pain management under control then things will start to.improve
