Hi everyone,
Well the 6 week wait is finally up and granddad had his appointment following his CT scan back in July today, after radiotherapy treatment for a 1.3cm lesion, T1b N0 M0.
The consultant said she was highly delighted it has "completely gone"! I was hoping for it to stay the same, or at least shrink, this wasn't even on my mind and I am absolutely speechless. I feel so incredibly grateful to the amazing staff at The Christie who have made this happen. He'll now be discharged back to our home hospital trust for arrangement of surveillance scans etc., not sure on the frequency, I thought every 3 months but given that it's gone completely I don't know if they might do 6 monthly? Who knows, whatever the plan is we'll be there!
Thank you to all you incredibly brave people on this forum who have supported me since his diagnosis back in February, for all of the comments, messages. From this forum I have found reality, hope, positivity - and this has made this journey so much easier <3
I've no plans on going anywhere, I'll be sticking around to hopefully be helpful to someone else who's already on, or starting the same journey - NEVER GIVE UP!
Kate xx
That is wonderful news kate290822 I know how hard it was for you to have to wait so long for the results, but that was definitely worth the wait!!
I hope you and grandad will be celebrating this weekend x
Thank you Chelle! It was so difficult, the consultant apologised for the long wait and explained some people needed to be seen sooner, and that they would have called him sooner had it been a bad scan - so that answers the question I had weeks ago!
Oh definitely as a family we are just in complete disbelief, I don't think the celebrations will ever stop xx
Thank you so much, for all your support and inspiring words! It has kept me going x
Thank you so much!!! I love your sign off - granddad was made in 1947 and is also tested to destruction! What a fab community we have here :)
