Hi everyone

I was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer in my right lung in December. It has spread to my liver and spine. I now have a really sharp pain on my left side that feels like a muscle pain as it hurts to touch.

Does anyone have this or had it as I am not sure whether I should report it.

  • Hi

Sorry to hear about your discomfort. Unfortunately I don't have the experience of your cancer, my lung cancer was in the upper left lung with radiotherapy treatment only. I have pain and a couple of sore ribs which are sore to touch in the area where I was treated, but I have been told it is late onset side effects from the radiotherapy. My treatment finished in December 2023.

I would certainly ring your cancer nurse specialist and report your pain, I don't know what treatment you have had, but I have read other people's experiences on here about various treatments and surgery that has left them in pain. But firstly you need to ring the cancer centre where you are being treated, everything needs to be followed up and investigated.

    I wish you well, regards.
