Hi all,
I had a lung wedge resection three weeks ago. Been a rough recovery. I have got an infection in a surgical wound and also feel very tired all the time. Male 52.
The worst thing though is the pain on breathing in which does not seem to be getting better. Unless I take very shallow breaths, I get a pain in my chest and then a spasm like sharp pain in my abdomen and side.
Has anyone had a similar experience. It may be I am just expecting too much too soon.
Any advice or other experiences would be really welcome.
Hi bluestar1971 it is still very early days for you post surgery, and if you have an infection that will be effecting you as well. Have you spoken to anyone in your medical team about this ?
Hi thanks for the reply. I really appreciate it. I saw the GP last week and he thought it was probably just what would be expected from the surgery. I have got my follow up appointment with the surgeon tomorrow, so I can see what they say.
I think my expectations are probably a bit high
Thanks again
Andrew
Hi Andrew it may just be that. I think sometimes we forget just how major surgery is, and just want to feel normal again. You’ll get there, just be easy on yourself.
