Lung biopsy

I hope you do not mind me responding as my biopsy was for a different type of cancer. I hope by doing so someone who has experienced the same type of biopsy will see your post and respond. 

Having tests for cancer is always a worrying time but hopefully you will not have to wait too long to have your biopsy and to find out for sure what is wrong. 

I have had a look on here and there seems to be different types of biopsy done for possible lung cancer and I do not want to give you the wrong information. If you give the Support Line a call and speak to one of the nurses they would be able to go through the specific biopsy and talk to you about expected recovery. The number is at the end of this and they are lovely on there. 

Another way to find others who have had a similar experience is to use the search function at the top of this page- next to Home. 

If you put "biopsy" in and search the Lung Cancer group it will bring up previous posts.

Hello 

I recently had a biopsy carried out on a lump in my middle lobe.on my right lung. I had a bronchoscopy and this is done under a sedative but you stay awake. I was in hospital for two hours 10 minutes in total. In, straight to theatre, recovery and home. They took a biopsy, brush and saline wash to collect samples. It’s not pleasant but if you relax and keep breathing through your nose it’s over fast. I had three days off work afterwards but I could have gone back after two days. Good luck and I hope you get results soon
