I got a letter telling me I'm to go in on the 8th of nov to dr.kumars radiotherapy clinic. Does this mean I'll be getting it done that day or just talking to doc about it? Am just a bit nervous
Hi Frazzled
My experience with radiotherapy was that I first had an appointment at the clinic to discuss the radiotherapy, why I was having it, what the side effects may be and what would be happening. I was also checked that I had healed ok from surgery. A couple of days after that I had a phone call to go to the radiotherapy department to have a planning scan. This was a normal CT scan and I was given more information and also the little tattoos. I was given a list of appointment dates about a week after the CT scan. My radiotherapy started about a week later.
There should be a phone number on your letter that you can call if you want anymore info about what the clinic is about.
