Was diagnosed with Stage 4 SCLC January, large tumor in lung (9cm) have had 4 rounds of Chemo, which seemed ineffective and had 15 rounds of radiotherapy, which did shrink the tumor a bit. I have just completed 4 rounds of immune therapy, Durvalumab (INFINZI), but i had a bad reaction to this. Has anyone else had a bad reaction to immune therapy? are there further options?
at a loose on what happens next do i have short time/long time left? what options are there....any feedback on experiences would be a great help and comfort
thanks in advance
Hi Davet4 I am so sorry to hear that you have had a bad reaction to the immunotherapy. I don’t know if there are still treatments available for you but if you think you have exhausted all treatment options, then you may be suitable for a drug trial. These are treatments that they are still trialling, but it’s not too long ago that immunotherapy was only available on a drugs trial, and that is now one of the main lung cancer treatments.
Please do talk to your oncologist if you think this is something you think you may want to try, and they will see if there are any trials in your area.
Whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.
We’re here to provide physical, financial and emotional support.
