I had a left upper lobectomy 2 months ago with complete resection of my adenocarcinoma. I had been recovering well but this week I've been bringing up pink sputum only in the mornings. I've had a CT to rule out a pulmonary embolism which was normal and told it's likely just my body adjusting to surgery. Just wondering if anybody else has experienced this? Thanks.
Hi Daisy83 I haven’t had this procedure, but I think 2 months is still very recent to fully recover from such an operation. It is reassuring to see you have had a recent CT to check everything is ok, but if this gets any worse for you make sure you let someone in your medical team know.
Hopefully someone who has had this procedure will be along soon to put your mind at rest over this.
Take care x
I had a lobectomy in April last year and started coughing up pink sputum in April of this year. I contacted my team and they weren't especially concerned about it, saying that it was likely due to a respiratory infection - which turned out to be the case and it resolved on its own.
