Hello
i live with my mum, I’m her carer, although can’t deny sometimes it’s the other way round..
she has suspected lung cancer since 26th April
she has a date to discuss a much awaited plan.
I know I need to move away from this, but
13 odd weeks it’s taken to get this far and her treatments for other ailments are all affected as in stopped / paused because of suspected lung cancer
I’ve read a few posts before writing this and it has helped….
I’m struggling …it’s been quite a cruel journey so far…I’m not there as much as I think I should be… because I’m struggling, I know it’s not about me…
Any advise
Hi BB being told a loved one has cancer is absolutely terrifying, and it is ok to admit you are struggling with everything that goes with caring for a loved one.
There are a few people here in the lung group who are caring for loved ones, but I wonder if you may also want to join the Carers only forum and the Family and friends forum where you can connect with other people who are going through a similar situation.
You can also talk to someone at the Macmillan support line on 0808 808 00 00 who are available 7 days a week from 8am until 8pm.
Good luck with mums appointment for her plan. I think you may both feel better once you know what is to happen going forward. X
Thank you.. will have a look at your recommendations… appreciate that x
