I’m not really sure what advice anyone can give me but my partner has been put on the urgent referral list as a mass has been found on on the hilar on his right lung.
I am devastated and unbelievably worried by everything I have read.
Did anyone journey start out this way?
my hubby has a mass on his lung too . We have been waiting 3weeks for a biopsy to be done . Hoping it will be done soon . Been told we have been wait so long due to the Jnr Drs strike , the biopsy was requested 4th April . . I can imagine what you are going through as going through the same thing myself . The waiting is unbearable . Hope they can help your hubby
Thank you. The waiting is so stressful.
I hope your husband manages to get his biopsy done soon.
I just keep hoping it’s nothing serious but he is pretty sure it is.
Hi LisaL,
I can relate to this. I found out in February this year, but only got my EBUS result in May. Ok, I'm 69 next week and only Stage T1bNxMx at the moment. I've seen the Thoracic consultant who told me my right lung would have to go and radiation was not an option as it would make me far to ill. I saw the surgeon last week who told me he was not prepared to operate as I wouldnt make it. He has referred me to the oncologist for radical radiation/chemo. Now I am terrified after what the Thoracic consultant said. Everything takes so long and I just keep thinking that all this time the damn thing is growing. I think my diagnosis has not sunk in yet, I'm still on the 'it's happening to someone else, not me'. I can't say anything to make it easier but I can say a lot of people on here are willing to help. I hope your diagnosis wasn't as bad as you think and, if it is, you are offered the surgery. At least that way you know its gone. Keep smiling hunni, and don't let it get you down. Laugh as much as your able, it really does help.
Mine was found during a lung health check in January. Was put on urgent referral. I have found things go very slow. Saw Thoracic consultant in February and was told it wasn't acting like a typical lung cancer. After 4 PET/CT scan, a CT scan, lung function tests and finally an EBUS biopsy they found it was squamous cell carcinoma of the right lung. The Lung had to go was what I was told. Saw the surgeon last week and he told me he was not prepared to do surgery as I wouldn't make it. Now I have wait a bit longer to see an oncologist and another CT scan and see what they can do. Due to junior doctors strike action they hoping it will be sometime this week. Its nearly 6 months now and I'm still waiting. I THOUGHT because its lung cancer I'd be seen quicker. It looks like it don't work that way and it is so frustrating and scary. I hope your hubby gets seen quickly and its not as bad as he thinks. Keep smiling because it really does help get you through
