So op went ahead 14th march and they managed VATS. Discharged after 4 days and going ok. Just wondered if anyone else has experienced this lump in the throat feeling after op?
Glad to hear your op went ahead and you are now back home recovering. I believe you have a breathing tube down your throat during the op and maybe that is what could be causing the sensation of a lump in your throat. Have you got a nurse contact number to check it out if you feel concerned about it. I'm nearly 3 weeks post op and tbh I have aches and pains everywhere but I do feel a bit better each day and am managing to walk and do little tasks round the house.
Best wishes for a continued recovery.

So sorry to hear what's going on with yourself Yvonne, I hadn't looked on forum, gosh your no having it great atm, how you doing today? X
Hi Tom, I'm no doctor but it could refux I think.scared to cough and build up in bk of throat, feels like a lump , when did u have your op
I have had reflux b4 it’s not that - I can cough easily so not too sure may be some scarring from the tubes they put down there - it’s a hard op to recover from that’s for sure - I also feel like I have been cut in half strange sensation across my middle - my surgery was 11 weeks ago
Yeah I understand I had open with my 2nd op and recovering was hard at first sensations I'd bever felt before , this sounds mad but I feel as if there was like a bubbling noise didn't realise it was hearing my upper bowel it felt echoed , weird but a Yr down the line and I'm doing really well apart from.small nics
Hiya Tom. So sorry you had to join the club. I am more than 4.5 mths post surgery and I too had all kinds of odd feelings and sensations. Lump in throat and feeling of breathing through bubbles were two of them. Thankfully neither lasted and I was back at work after 11weeks (I have an office job and they managed Keyhole which I understands speeds up the external recovery !). I took advantage of the gym membership and 121 reviews, not sure if these are available in your area it’s an initiative in Manchester? . My breathing now has massively improved, it is worse if carrying stuff, climbing stairs or rushing but you have to listen to your body and push through. I really hope you get some improvements soon and start to feel like your old self again.
Thank you for your comments - yes that bubbly feeling is weird - I had open surgery but my big cut has healed brilliantly it’s just the broken ribs and internal things that seem to be setting me back - the breathlessness is bad too just have to do things slowly seems to be my only speed at the mo x please don’t over do things at work though.
