Hi its my last lot of radiotherapy today I feel I should be jumping for joy with happiness but I’m not I feel so flat and down I can’t understand why or why I feel so flat and down. I so tired and exhausted and I’ve never in my life felt the cold like I feel it now, I’ve never in my life suffered headaches but I do now. What side effects has other people had from radiotherapy? After today I’m not sure what will happen I would think I’ll get a scan soon in a couple of weeks to make sure the radiotherapy has cured my lung cancer? Does anyone know what will happen? Love Yvonne xxx
Hi Yvonne
Firstly well done for getting through the radiotherapy!
You are tired and exhausted; so of course you flat and down. Your immune system has been dealing with radiotherapy so it is possible that your red cell blood count is low, which would help to explain the being cold and having headaches. You should mention these side effects to your cancer team as you may need a blood test.
After today the radiotherapy will continue to work on the area where the cancer was,, so it may be some weeks before you have your post treatment scan or before you start to feel less tired.
Hope this helps a bit and I wish you the best possible outcome.
