My aunt's condition is deteriorating fast.
The cancer had spread to her brain.. She is now bedridden and doubly incontinent. She is on permanent oxygen and is not eating. She has carers going in everyday.
Her partner and my mum are talking about plans to care for her for the next 6-12 months. My aunt does not want to know how long she may have so my mum and uncle have just come up with their own timescale.
I feel horrible for thinking this but given the speed of her deterioration I suspect she may have weeks rather than months.
I don't know how to broach this with them without any information from a medical professional.
I think your mum and her partner may be just being practical ,or maybe they have been told she has between 6-12 months ,and maybe they do know how long she has got but dont want to face it ,maybe they dont want to upset each other ,or you ,could you not just sit your mum down and ask her ,what she thinks ,or what she knows ,talk together
I have tried talking to everyone. They won't speak about it. I have been told noone has any idea of time.
Clearly I am wrong.
