Anyone had a 12mm pulmonary nodule in the lower right lobe that turned out to be benign?
Hi rainbow82. I've just seen you dip into the Head and neck cancer forum, where I live, a couple of times. Do you have a Maggie's near you? They are usually attached to major hospitals. They have been marvellous for lots of people.
You could look at ROY CASTLE too who have support groups that are now meeting face to face
I was beside myself...in my head...with all the waiting but I felt so much better when a plan to treat me was in place
Best wishes

Hi Rainbow82
My Oncologist told me that if everyone in the world was scanned, most would have a nodule somewhere in their body and the vast majority of nodules are benign and cause no problems.
Hope this provides re-assurance.

Plenty of nodules that size will be benign. Even if it isn't, there's every possibility that surgery for a 12mm nodule would be curative.
Your worry is understandable but right now you simply don't have enough information and getting more information will require further tests and more waiting. It absolutely sucks but it's a process beyond our control.
