Hi,
my granny is in hospital with pneumonia she is 80 years old and has COPD. On Thursday we were told she had lung cancer, they have taken fluid from her lung and we were told she is waiting for the MDT meeting to happen.
how long does this usually take? It’s been nearly a week since we were told we don’t have any more info as to what stage or what they are going to do?
Hi outlook22, sorry to hear about your granny, you must be feeling very anxious for her.
MDT’s usually take place once a week, on the same day every week, so you shouldn’t have much more time to wait. I expect at the moment they will be concentrating on getting rid of the pneumonia infection. I hope you get some news soon x
Thanks, we were told yesterday afternoon it would be today. How long does it usually take for them to give the feedback? The pneumonia is nearly gone now which we are hoping is a good sign as she has fought it off quite quickly x
If the MDT is today, you could hear today if not tomorrow. Good luck
