morning all , do you have to remove acrylic nails for any treatment plans ? I’m just considering getting them removed before my next appointment ? Thanks Elly .. ps so hope I’m not over posting ? X
You can never post too much Elly., don’t worry about that.
I would get the acrylics taken off now before any treatment starts. Some treatments can make your nails very weak, and you have to be very careful if having chemo around infections, so nail salons are not a good idea.
My nails are very thin, but since I have been having denosumad injections they did actually start to grow healthy again. So I went to a nail bar and treated myself to a gel polish manicure. 3 weeks later they needed doing again, and to remove the gel polish they used one of those electric files and filed it off of the top of my nails. My nails are now flakey, splitting and back to feeling like paper, so I won’t be doing that again.
Thanks Chelle , I’ll make the appointment …. Mine will be rubbish after 20 years of acrylic anyway x
That's interesting to know about the Denosumab. I'm also on it.
My nails have been growing really well lately but I never made the connection! I wondered if it was the b12 but it's probably the denosumab doing it.
