Clumsiness after Chemo. Two left feet!

I've heard of chemo brain, but I seem to suffer with Clumsiness of the feet in the week after receiving chemotherapy/immunotherapy

I can be walking along and will  trip over fresh air.

I've never had mobility problems and go running twice a week so this is really strange. I don't have 'falls'.!That's for other people! ;-)

Anybody else had this problem? I'm not sure if it's balance related or some sort of neuropathy thing going on that I've read about (however my feet don't feel numb so maybe not that?)

My treatment is carboplatin,  pembromizulab and pemetrexed.

  • Hi Harebellle

Yes, it is probably mild neuropathy brought on by the carboplatin.  At the start of my treatment, I nicknamed The Christie hospital as the 'Ministry of silly walks' as many patients seemed to have problem walking.   If it is chemo related, you will get back to normal once the chemo is over.

  • Hi harebellle. I’m sorry I’m not at your level of treatment yet so cannot comment but I hope someone else can for you ….. if it helps I’ve not even started treatment yet and I’ve fell over myself a few times this week and my brain has gone to mush , found the cheese in the bin this morning all nicely wrapped in foil and the wrapper in the fridge hope it passes for you soon love x

  • As kegsy says, probably neuropathy, same thing happened to me. Hopefully it will wear off over time.
