Keytruda and aching

I've been on keytruda since July last year having treatments every 6 weeks.

This last month I've developed aching ribs on my right side and a bad back. I'm unsure as to whether I've pulled a muscle (dog pulls on lead) it's side effects or it's spread. I had an MRI a month ago and nothing was showing though.

Im stage 4 nsclc and asymptomatic... I did have a pleural effusion on my left side but after having a drain in for a while it cleared up in November.

My breathing is absolutely fine...I just feel like I've pulled some muscles but this damn illness make you think the worse all the time.

Just wondered if anyone had experienced similar, thanks, Gill

  • Hi Elsie

im in quite a different situation from you, was diagnosed with adenocarcinoma & had a R upper lobectomy on Dec. 30th. Thankfully no lymph involvement & no need for further treatment which I’m eternally grateful for ! Just need to be monitored for the next 5 years.

I also have started having quite severe lower rib & back pain on my lower R side, even sore to touch. Waiting for a baseline CT scan & hoping all is well.
im so sorry you are having to have further treatment which I pray will be very successful !! Please keep in touch !

    take care x

    Good morning lovely people.

2nd CT scan on 17 April this tear (R upper lobectomy Dec. 2022) recent scan has shown my middle lobe is compressed. Having bronchial lavage on the 23rd May. Letter to GP from consultant described it as possible middle lobe syndrome,  GP unsure what this is. Regular chest infections but one in December this year & a few weeks ago really floored me. Throat is quite raw & my voice is quite hoarse. Anyone able to suggest any ideas on what's going on with me ?
