Diagnosed with lung melanoma and ready for surgery. Second PET scan ordered. Two further areas of concern chest wall and prostate. Scan and biopsy requested.
Anyone the same?
Hi,
I'm a melanoma patient who has just had a single 7.5mm lesion found, via a chest/abdomen/pelvis CT scan, on my lung. I am awaiting a further PET scan next week to confirm it is a cancerous lesion and check for any more. Options I've been given are :- if it a single lesion either radiation or surgery or double dose immuno, if there are more lesions elsewhere then double dose immuno. My Oncologist was very confident he could cure this regardless of whether it was a single or multiple lesions. He told me he had successfully treated patients with up to 50 lesions - so there is some realistic hope. If you want another good news story read Tim90's profile. He was stage 4 and now is completely disease free. Good luck.
