Hi All,
I just wondered if there was anyone here with SCLC and currently receiving Immunotherapy? My Dad has Stage 4 SCLC and currently started Atezolizumab on its own. He’s currently had 4 chemo sessions with the Immunotherapy but is now having the cycles of Immunotherapy on its own every 3 weeks.
He’s become very anxious in the last month, I personally think he’s also feeling a bit out of the safe zone without the chemotherapy, as much as he hated it. He has his scan results next Friday (17th) the day before my wedding, he had his scan over 2 weeks ago, would they contact us before his appointment if the results were negative?
Take care all

Hi
It does generally take up to 2 weeks for the radiographers report to be prepared and sent to the Oncology team. I doubt that he will hear anything from his Oncology team ahead of next week's scheduled appointment.
I hope this helps a bit. Good luck for the forhcoming wedding; I am sure your Dad will be the proudest father of the bride.

Hi Essex1 waiting for scan results is very nerve racking, I am not surprised your Dad is anxious. There are people here who have done very well on immunotherapy without any other treatment, so try not to worry.
Have a wonderful wedding, and good luck for your dads results x
Hi, I have SCLC, and am currently on just immunotherapy on its own (Atezolizumab) and have been since my chemo ended (4 rounds) in March this year. The chemo shrunk the cancer by 50% and the immunotherapy has kept it stable for 8 months . At my last scan ( mid October) it showed it had got a little bigger, but the oncologist said he wasn’t worried, and we would carry on as before until my next scan (end of January) I felt just the same when my chemo stopped, anxious that the immunotherapy wouldn’t be enough on its own,but it is a lot less invasive, and quicker too. I have hardly any side effects from the immunotherapy, and have been able to get back to a little more normal life . 2weeks is pretty much normal time for results . Hope that answers some of your questions, anything else you would like to know, just ask ! Good luck with the results, and hope the wedding goes well
