Anyone know about this treatment please any advise anyone had this treatment.

  • I've had it on my brain. It fires high powered focused radio waves at you, I think, and a computer controls it. They do a planning scan first, which is used to control the movement of the machine so it hits the exact place or places. It basically kills of the cancer cells, and it's worked for me. It's in quite a large room, and the machine is on tracks that move all around you. I just kept my eyes shut and it's fine. It's very quiet too, so not scary like an MRI machine. There's no pain  either. You may feel sleepy for a week or 2 afterwards if it's on your head, but that's all. I don't know if they use it for other areas or not but as this is the liver forum I'm guessing you're either having it on your liver, or the cancer has spread. With me, they firstly made a mould of my head which they used to hold my head in place so I didn't move. That's a bit uncomfy but it's not too bad. If you're having it on your liver, they may do something similar elsewhere on your body, just to keep you still.

    I hope this helps.
