My husband had bowel cancer back in may, unfortunately since then he has been diagnosed with liver cancer. He starts his chemotherapy on Monday and will have his chemo port placed tomorrow. We were told the cancer can't be cured but also the cancer isn't terminal. We are still trying to get our heads round this information. "Has anyone been or going through the same" and what to expect
Hi HattiG and welcome to the Macmillan Community.
I see this is your first post with us, and I am sorry to read about your husband’s situation. I wonder if you might benefit from also joining our bowel cancer group here
This group has members who have dealt with bowel cancer which has spread to the liver, if this is the situation for your husband, so if you join the group and copy your post there you are likely to get more relevant replies particularly if you can let the group know the type of chemo your husband will be having.
There are some other groups where you may also get additional support here
Supporting Someone With Incurable Cancer
I hope your husband’s port placement will go smoothly, and that you’ll find the community a helpful and supportive environment to connect with others in a similar situation.
Sarah xx
