Hi I am new to this group . I had my left kidney removed in June after a mass was found accidentally. Like you all it came as a shock . The biggest hurdle for me was telling my family especially my elderly parents . They still worry after 4 months and this upsets me . I’m doing ok still get a little tired but out of the blue last week became very emotional for a few days . Is this normal ?
I expect there is a degree of delayed shock/stress. I would say it took me 6 months to feel sort of back to normal! And I didn't have worried parents to add to the mix. I am 75, 2 years on from kidney removal, and my other kidney is compensating very well. It has grown and its function is good. Maybe that might reassure them a little. Look after yourself x
