My cancer journey began in 2018 when I was diagnosed with stage three kidney cancer (high risk) I had a big operation to remove kidney, adrenal gland and a few other things. In 2020 I was told it was back in my left lung and had another operation to remove a large wedge of lung. In 2021 I was then told it was back in my right lung and had another operation to remove a segment of my right lung. My latest scan has shown I have enlarged nodes in my chest area so now it’s a watch and wait scenario. I have had to retire from work on the grounds of ILL Health. Although I have reached my 5 year survival goal it’s still very scary and living with it everyday takes it out of me mentally and physically.
Hi Pip44 and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.
I'm not a member of this group but noticed that your post hadn't had any replies yet. Responding will 'bump' it back to the top of the discussion list where it'll be easier for the other group members to see.
While you're waiting for replies, it would be great if you could pop something about your diagnosis and treatment so far into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.

Hi Pip
Welcome to the group, I am fairly early in my journey, (awaiting my first CT scan post nephrectomy). I think the main thing I have learnt from this group is never to give up hope.
My Dad was diagnosed with Leukemia when I was in my teens and given a prognosis of a couple of years, he made it to 79 years old. Every time a treatment stopped being effective a new one, often in clinical trials came along.
He lived a full and active life.
Never give up and fight it to your last breath
