Good afternoon. My 4 year old was diagnosed with wilms tumour in November, had initial 6 weeks chemotherapy to reduce tumour on kidney and to clear shadow on both lungs. She had kidney removed mid January and starts radiotherapy next week and a further 6 months chemotherapy. She has had numerous ups and downs however starting to become brighter day by day. It’s a terrible thing to go through for such a young person with a lack of understanding. The emotional strain is unbelievable especially on whoever is the primary caregiver.
We have also found that during this illness she has found it very difficult at times mentally and gets very angry or wishes to be alone, this is out of character for her and hope it passes once she finishes her treatment.
HAS ANYONE ELSE BEEN THROUGH THIS
