Hi

i was diagnosed in September with rcc which has spread to the bones. I have had 4 sessions of immunotherapy and am having first scan since diagnosed in February to see if my tumours have shrunk. I have 3 tumours, main in kidney is 7cm, one in bones at top off leg is 4cm and one in bone on the shoulder of 3.5cm. Hoping to see these have shrunk in February. I have been reading the posts on this site since January and have found it very helpful. Just wondering if there is anyone out there in a similar position to me?
Regards

Rose xx

  • Hi Rose  I’m sorry that you had to find yourself here but like to offer you a warm welcome to the Online Community. I am also very sorry to hear about your Kidney Cancer diagnosis

A cancer diagnosis will bring many questions, lots of confusion and stress but I found being able to talk with other people who are on the same type of journey helped me a lot. It’s good that you’ve found this forum, it’s a good place to find people in a similar situation who will understand your fears and anxieties. I’m not actually from this group but I’m sure someone will come along soon and reply.

When you have a minute, it would be helpful if you could pop something about your  journey so far into your profile as it really helps others when answering or looking for someone with a similar diagnosis. (It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself.) To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can update it at any time and if you're not sure what you should write have a quick look at mine by clicking on my username.

It’s always good to talk and the Macmillan Support Services provides lots of information, support, financial guidance or just a listening ear. It's free to call on 0808 808 00 00  8am to 8pm, 7 days a week. Have a look to see what is available by Clicking here .

There is also an Ask an Expert section, but you should allow two working days for replies from our expert team.
