I have just come across this piece of new research;"
It’s possible to predict whether a person will survive kidney cancer by analysing the ‘speckle signature’ of their tumour cells. Speckles are structures inside the nucleus of a cell that are stuffed full of proteins involved in RNA processing. Researchers measured the expression of 117 proteins from speckles inside kidney cancer cells and identified two distinct signatures that had a “remarkable correlation with patient outcomes”. People with kidney cancer who had speckle Signature I had worse outcomes than those with speckle Signature II.

Hi Ma78
Thank you for taking the time to post this link. I'm not a member of this group, but just popping on to 'bump' it back to the top of the discussion list for anyone who hasn't seen it.

Thanks for taking the time to post the link to this new research. I took a look at your profile ... I hope your son is doing well with his treatment. Sorry to hear of the loss of his younger brother.
Thank you. Son had all clear following first post treatment scan just before Christmas
