I noted your post had no replies yet and by posting I will bump it back to the top of the group so hope that helps some. My experience with cancer is very different so nothing specific in this forum. Our experience does however show that scans do have a good habit of picking things up that may or might not be something of concern but a series of spaced scans are much more informative. 

It might help you to look at the kidney cancer pages to step through how this kind of cancer is diagnosed. It might be you have some of these tests to show if your lesion is cancerous or benign.

It might be worth thinking to if the chest pain could be from something else.

Hi, mine spread to the lung but it was 59mm so not small and not a similar scenario to you.  It is unusual for spread to occur on such a small tumour.  

Hi I'm 2 years post op I had half my kidney removed and tumor that was malignant.i also have lung nodules. I have a ct scan every year and been told not to be concerned about them as not chanced in size anything. Have you had biopsy on kidney?? Ask your consultants if your nodules have changed in any way and if he is concerned about them or not good luck xx
