Hello
I was diagnosed on NYE with Hodgkins and will be having a biopsy tomorrow.
I'm obviously scared and frightened, alongside the heady concoction of denial (it doesn't feel like it's me), sadness, hope (it's really treatable and the success rate is high), attempts to distract myself and confusion. .
How did you guys find dealing with the bit before you find out the extent of everything? I mean, I don't know what stage it's at or anything so it's a bit of a daunting question if I look over it. What happens after the biopsy?
Sorry, so many questions... just thought it'd be nice to find people who also went through the same.
Thank you so much in advance
Tom
Thanks for the advise Jakki! Yes I'm going to tell them to get shot of it! My boy is really looking forward to it being removed, and it's a constant reminder of my illness!
I hope you have a lovely party - you are an inspiration.
Congrats to you on the 5K. Just wondered, I have not ran since March, but I'm keen to get going ASAP! Running gives me a feel good factor that I think I'll need! How long did it take you to get started following final chemo?
A question for everyone, I'm due to finish treatment two weeks on Tuesday (oh and I know Daisy is too - whoohoo), what I want to know is, when can I eat a Chinese,? when can I have a steak?, and more importantly, when can I go to a crowed pub! ?
Hope you're all good and having a lovely sunday
Take care
Hi Cezza (and thanks for sharing my petition on fb)
i think common sense has to rule here, if a tried and really trusted Chinese prepared meal is what you crave, and you know the place that cooks it has an excellent reputation, (I would be careful of rice) then why not?
Otherwise, simply wait till you think your white counts are pretty high ( probably around a month? ) and hope for the best. If in any doubt, ask your nurse when you go for this final (yay) chemo.
I hope too, that you get your line removed straight away.....
hugs to all xxx

I had my picc removed straight after final chemo infusion, nurse just pulled it out. I even took a photo of the big moment lol. You'll have to ask your consultant to ok it and write it in your notes so make sure you nag him/her to do it as nurses need the go ahead before they'll do it. Regards to the take away i had them before I'd finished. We have a good chinese with 5* rating and i trust them. I got so peed off towards the end it was my way of rebelling lol.
Daisy Krazy and others still being treated hope that you're still plodding on ok. Mark well done for the results, keep positive for everything else
Jakki hope you enjoy your 'r word' party!
Also to reiterate Moomy you really are great on here for everyone we are all lucky you care so much
Hi to all you other post treatmenters too. Hope lifes treating you kind

Hello my lovelies,
Tipsy post time; just had the best day ever, all my most favourite people in the world in one place. Makes you realise how lucky you are! My best moment was my 7 year old nephew saying (unprompted) "Auntie Jakki well done for fighting cancer" made me realise that I had battled and won little tears in my eyes!
Cezza my nurse said go back to normal after two weeks and I did, all was fine! You have done so well mate, remained positive and you and Daisy are nearly there I am so impressed, we need to order champagne when we meet up in November, we are definitely worth it!
xxxx
Aw Jakki.....so pleased your party was a blast!! You deserve every second as you fought the big fight and won!! So sweet what your nephew said.....out of the mouths of babes eh?
Party on Jakki......lots of love and admiration, Dxx
