Escalated beacopdac side effects in recovery week, coming off prednisolone side effects

Hi,

Wondering if I can get some advice, I have already had 2 cycles of abvd for classic hodgkin's lymphoma and was moved to escalated beacop-dac for 2 cycles after my interim pet scan showed that although most of the cancer was gone the under arm mass that started at 8cm x 6cm was still there but had reduced to 3cm x 2cm prompting the change.

I am now on week 3 after having my first beacop-dac cycle and looking for advice please.

I stopped the prednisolone as per guidelines on Sunday and today have muscle tenderness, stiffness etc on Collerbone, across chest muscles, shoulder, underarm joint tenderness, clicking/moving noise in ear and swollen glands all of which is on left side.

I don't feel unwell with and have no fever or breathing issues but was wondering if others have experienced this, is it due to coming off the prednisolone, the g-csf injections (I had lower back pain after the 4th injection but this subsided after a day) or is it more side effect ls from the chemotherapy itself even in recovery week?

  • Hi again  regardless the treatment….. I was treated for 2 rare types of T-Cell NHL between late 2013 and late 2015 I experienced the exact same things……..

Our muscle mass and nerves system is put through a lot so aches and pains unfortunately come and go…… the G-CSF injections can be responsible for some of this….. I was on them for 5 days post my 6 cycles of chemo but daily for over 3 months after my second Allograft SCT…… but I was prescribed antihistamines to take as this bizarrely helps reduce the bone pain and coming off the steroids can also intensify the aches and pains.

As always these things should be reported to your team, from my experience if they were not concerned I was happy.
