Hi I was on the forum when I was first was diagnosed with HL stage 3 , at the time I was struggling with severe pains in my stomach I’ve have now had two full coarsesofABVD and the stomach pain returns I’ve tried lots of painkillers and trying to eat what I’m told I went into hospital with constipation that’s better but can no one say they took something that shifted it . It’s took over my life regather than my cancer hopefully there’s something thanks and take care.
Hi again Paul greeny123 sorry to hear about your ongoing challenges.
I had a different treatment for a different Lymphoma… but the main preventative tools I was advised was to take a minimum of one sachets of Laxedo every morning, every day all the way through my months of treatment…… increasing the amount if I suspected that I was getting close to constipation….. and drinking a minimum of 2 litres of water every day all the way through the months of treatment.
Hi greeny123 - constipation was pretty severe with ABVD. I did two full cycles of ABVD (although I've now been moved to escalated BEACOPDac) and found that I basically had to take 1 full laxido, 2 times a day from Day 2 of each cycle without fail in order to keep things moving...makes things a lot more comfortable too.
Without being too crass....make sure that whenever there is a slight need to go...go!
Thanks MJ how about stomach pain I get this 3 days after chemotherapy and it lasts for days I’m at my wits end with it
I'm so sorry greeny :(
I didn't get stomach pain as such but I got horrendous acid reflux which was also causing INTENSE hiccups (literally wasn't able to sleep for days on end). Could it be acid related? I spoke to my consultant about prescribing Lansoprazole and it changed everything. No more hiccups and no more painful reflux.
p.s. Just had a look on another Lymphoma forum and a few people are reporting that they suffered really badly with stomach pain...sounds almost too easy but these guys are saying probiotic yoghurts make a massive difference...got to be worth a go?
Sorry I can't be more use. Link here for you though:
