Small update on my progress i am now 3 cycles in only being diagnosed april 2023 on having ABVD chemo (struggled with side effects) i have had a second PET scan only yesterday so my consultant can assess my progress so grateful to have a rest as the last 3 months have been a struggle.
I am really not looking forward to any more chemo (if needed) but i have been told that 6 cycles is the normal and not 3.
I have been looked after very well by the chemo unit and the consultant cant praise our NHS staff enough.
Hi again Tonyb9127 half way through is closer to the end than when you started your journey back in April.
If 6 cycles was mentioned by your co sultans at the start that would have been their initial assessment as to what you would need to do the job but this is what mid term PETs are done and with this information the consultant will decide what you still need…… some Side Effects can be directly related to some of the components within the ABVD like Peripheral neuropathy (nerve damage) so some parts of the ABVD can be reduced or removed.

Hi thanks for the lovely comments yes my scan was amazing ive finished chemo and now moving onto radiotherapy im having 10 sessions and then i should be in the clear
