Hi all. My husband has relapsed Hodgkins stage 3. Along with heart disease and diabetes type 2. We call him the medical Menagerie! Today we were told he will be having 4 cycles of Brentuximab before stem cell. Reason being hes just had heart stents and on clopidogrel. Has anyone had Brentuximab? anything we should look out for? Advice appreciated!

  • Hi  there have been a number on Brentuximab so let’s look for them to pick up on your post.

You can also use the search Mag tool near the top and look at the old Brentuximab posts and as always you can reply and see if the members are still looking in.

  • Hi, my husband has been on brentuximab for the past few months awaiting stem cell.  Oddly the first round really affected his mood, he was awful! Really bad tempered.  But that wore off and not been affected in the same way since.  He's been quite sore on the treatment and got numb fingers now, it seems like the side effects build up over time.  He's had 6 rounds now.  Hope it goes well for you.

  • Hi roses are red. Thanks for this. We have round 2 next week. He really suffered with the first and ended up in hospital. But we think that was due to infection. Weve hd moods too. But 3 weeks later and he does feel a lot better. He is dreading the next lot but gotta take each day! Hope all

goes okay your end. Our plan is stem cell too xx

  • Hopefully round 2 will be much better then, I think he was very unlucky to end up in hospital after the first.  It seems like the first one really hits the body.  My hubby had an auto sct back in March which proved to be unsuccessful at first scan 3 months later so heading for a allo sct next month.  X

  • Hi , just noticed that your husbands Auto SCT did not do the job but let’s look for the Allo SCT to turn the tide.

Do remember our dedicated Stem cell transplant group is there to help and support.

I do understand this journey far to well when a SCT fails. My first Allo SCT only lasted 6 months but I am 6 years on from my second Allo SCT and over 5 years in remission so lots of hope ((hugs))

Good luck with everything. I will be bobbing over to the Auto SCT group I think very shortly. We have our first appt on 8th November xxx take care. X

  • Hi  I will keep an eye open for you in the SCT group ((hugs))
