Hi 5 months post op from T2N0M0 tonsil cancer, neck dissection and tors robotic surgery.
Thought I'd do a quick update. Baseline ct scan after 3 months clear but lymph node on otherside swollen ( this was also checked at beginning of treatment) so ultrasound done and I'm waiting for results.
If anyone had told me 5 months ago that i'd be returning to work tomorrow I wouldn't have believed them but I am going back to school tomorrow!!!!! only part time til Oct half term as still having a few issues with my speech.
For anyone who is struggling or thinking that things will never improve, they will you just have to give your body time. I still worry and can be very emotional at times but we go through alot on this journey.
Thank you to everyone who gave me support and advice. This site is truly amazing.
Keep fighting.

Hi Lindie.
Your post resonates so much with me, now 7 months post treatment for similar, and returned to work (part time) about 3 months ago.
That period after RT and Chemo fnishes was really tough and thats when you have those thoughts 'will this ever get better". But as you say, it does, you just have to persist with all the routines the experts advise and rest as much as you can while you body heals, and you do finally come out the other side.
Just focus on all the highs along the way, like getting your sense of taste back (real high for me), being able to eat solids again, and pain reducing week by week.
Great to hear your story and that you are well enough to return to work, and for those in the midst of this journey, hang in there, it does get better.
